Caption video streams with multi-track audio
Caption multiple audio tracks on the same video stream
This is an optional feature in CaptionHub. Contact support if you want to use it.
This guide is for customers who want to caption multiple audio tracks on the same video stream. This is useful if the primary audio is already being translated by an on-site translator.
How it works
Multi-track captioning works by creating multiple projects, where the HLS transcription URL points to the different audio streams.
Setting up multi-track audio
Once your account is set up with multi-track audio, you can choose “Duplicate for multi-track” from the project dropdown. This creates a sub-project. Any captions generated by this project are automatically pulled into the parent project.

Usage notes
- All projects need to be started (and stopped) individually
- Make sure to mark only one language as “Player default”
Limitations
The transcript widget isn’t compatible with multi-track streams. Talk to us if you have a use case for these.
