Brightcove: requirements for a Brightcove Live stream
How to configure Brightcove Live
The following are requirements for live captioning a Brightcove stream:
- A segment size of at least 6 seconds (Brightcove’s default). See Brightcove: Increase the HLS segment size in Brightcove.
- We currently don’t support Brightcove’s content encryption.
- We don’t support Brightcove’s DRM feature.
- Your account can’t be configured with Brightcove’s own automated captions, as this interferes with our functionality.
Supported features
- Live captioning will work with all supported ingest methods (RTMP, RTP, SRT)
- Enabling live redundancy (an extra ingest endpoint as backup) is fully supported. In the CaptionHub import interface you’ll see your video a number of times, choose the principal video for import. You will have to manually restart the stream if the stream fails over.
