To set up our Brightcove connector, you'll need to register CaptionHub as an application with Brightcove.

 

To do this:

  1. Log into your Brightcove account as an Administrator.
  1. Click on the Settings cog menu at the bottom right, and choose "Account Information"
  1. Make a note of the Account ID, which is a sequence of numbers
  1. Next click on "API Authentication"
  1. Click the "Add application” button
  1. Give the integration a name, e.g. "CaptionHub"
  1. Adjust the permissions as shown below

  1. Click on the Save button at the bottom of the screen
  1. A pop-up window will appear, with a Client ID and a Client Secret on it. Leave this window open.

In CaptionHub

  1. Open a new browser window for CaptionHub
  1. Navigate to the top-right drop-down menu, and choose Connectors
  1. Paste the Client ID and the Client Secret from the Brightcove window
  1. Finally, enter your Account ID that you made a note of earlier
  1. Optional: Audio track publishing
    1. Select to enable publishing of your voiceover to Brightcove. This setting is applicable for users with multiple audio tracks enabled in their Brightcove account.

  1. Optional: Remove positioning information
    1. When enabled, CaptionHub will send Brightcove a plain VTT file, without positioning details.

  1. Click on the "Update" button at the bottom of the page
 

Replacing a video from Brightcove

To replace a video that has been ingested from Brightcove, you need to replace the source video in Brightcove itself, rather than in CaptionHub. In this situation you’ll need to delete the original project in CaptionHub and re-import the video as a new project.
