Requirements: any plan
ย
To enable the YouTube connector, navigate to the Connectors page, available from the drop-down menu at the top-right of your screen. Then navigate to the YouTube connector page.
You can now connect your YouTube account to your CaptionHub account:
ย
Once the integration is enabled
- From โNew Project fromโ on your Dashboard in CaptionHub, select YouTube
- All your YouTube media will be displayed; choose a video file in order to import it into CaptionHub
- Once itโs in CaptionHub, youโll be able to caption and subtitle your video normally
- Once youโve captioned and subtitled your video, navigate to the Publish tab in order to send the finalised timed text back to YouTube
ย
The YouTube connector is different compared to our other connectors, in that YouTube do not allow us to import your original media.
This means that we canโt offer transcription or rendering, and weโre unable to offer a frame accurate preview. If youโd like to transcribe or render, then weโd recommend that you import from YouTube as described above, and then use a โReplace project videoโ command to manually upload the original video to CaptionHub. Thatโll ensure you have full functionality inside of CaptionHub, and the links to your YouTube video will be maintained.
ย
Changing the YouTube connector
A team can only be connected to one YouTube account/ channel at a time. It is possible to change the connection to another YouTube account/ channel if required.
It is worth noting that you will only be able to publish captions to a project if the connection matches the YouTube account where that video resides. If you import a project from one account and change the YouTube connection you wonโt be able to publish those captions.
To change the connector:
- In the CaptionHub YouTube connector pane - click Deactivate
- Log out of your current YouTube account.
- On the connectors YouTube pane click Connect YouTube account.
