Live captions for a Mux HLS stream
How to live caption a HLS stream from Mux
Mux live streaming outputs HLS that is compatible with CaptionHub Live.
Supported features
- CaptionHub Live can be used regardless of ingest method (RTMP, RTMPS, SRT)
- Audio-only streams are fully supported
Requirements
- You will need to set the
latency_modetostandard. Any other setting will not work.
- Using DRM is not currently supported
Player support
We currently do not support Mux’ own player, but you can use any of our supported players for the HLS integration or supported plugins.
Limitations
- [October 2024] Subtitles using our video.js player plugin are sometimes mistimed by 1 second. We recommend using the THEOplayer plugin in this case.
