Receiving Connect requests

Clients use Connect requests to ask your team to work on original captions or translations.

When a client sends a Connect request:

  • Your team will receive an email notification.
  • The request will appear on the CaptionHub Connect overview page.

To access this page, click CaptionHub Connect from the sidebar navigation.

At this stage, the request can either be:

  • Accepted
  • Rejected

To review the request, click the request status link. This opens a dialog where you can choose whether to accept or reject it.

Note: Vendor teams cannot work on caption sets until the request has been accepted.

Working on accepted caption sets

Once a request has been accepted, your team can begin working on the captions using your usual workflow.

Superusers and Producers will see additional Connect controls within the project.

All standard CaptionHub tools remain available, including exporting captions and using transcription or translation services enabled for your team.

When the work is complete, click the request status link and choose one of the following actions:

  • Submit to client – returns the captions to the client for review and approval.
  • Withdraw from request – indicates that your team is unable to complete the work and returns control to the client.

Once a request has been submitted or withdrawn, the caption set becomes read-only for the vendor team.

What happens after a request is submitted?

Once the work has been submitted, the client team reviews the captions and can either:

  • Accept the submission
  • Reject the submission

If the submission is rejected, the request is returned to your team for further work.

If the client accepts the submission, the Connect workflow is complete and the captions become available to the client for publishing, exporting, and other downstream workflows.
