An overview of CaptionHub Connect within Automation
Configuring an Automation with CaptionHub Connect streamlines the process of automatically sending transcriptions and translations from a client team to external vendors, or series of vendors, to work on assigned caption sets. This functionality enables you to manage your localisation projects at scale with enhanced security and the necessary configurability.
Key Features
Automatic routing
With Connect and Automation, client teams can automatically route, or send, caption sets to specific vendor teams who use CaptionHub. This ensures that your projects are managed by the appropriate vendors in the order you designate, offering you the oversight and security essential for effective project management—all within CaptionHub.
Trigger-based captioning tasks
You can configure your automation to send a project to a vendor via CaptionHub Connect on two events:
- Creation/approval of Original Captions
- Creation/approval of Translations
In response to these completed events, triggers will be added upon the return of captions from CaptionHub Connect, enabling you to automate subsequent steps in your captioning process.
To visualize this, consider the following steps that can take place in a single automation workflow:
- Client team uploads a video to CaptionHub (via UI, API call or OVP)
- Automatically transcribe video, with Custom Dictionary applied
- Upon creation/approval of original captions, route transcriptions to external vendor(s)
- Vendor(s) works on transcription, automatically routing finished transcriptions in sequential order
- Upon client receipt/approval of original captions from last vendor, generate translations
- Upon creation/approval of translations, route translations to external vendor(s) in sequential order, leveraging term bases and preferred MT method as defined by each language grouping
- Vendor(s) works on translations, automatically routing finished translations to the next vendor in the established sequence
- Client notified on completed translations once the final vendor in sequence finishes their work
- Client to export or publish finished output
