How to live caption a HLS stream from Wowza
Wowza Cloud outputs HLS that is compatible with the CaptionHub’s HLS integration. Wowza Cloud streams contain a non-standard Program Date Time, and isn’t compatible with the plugin integration.
Step by step
You can add captions to a Wowza stream with the following steps:
- Create a stream in Wowza Cloud
- Create a new project in CaptionHub, and use the HLS playback URL from Wowza
- Configure a compatible player to use the modified manifest from CaptionHub
