Export VTTs from a live stream

Once an event has finished, you can download VTT files for all available languages.

To do this, navigate to the History tab and click Download VTTs.

These subtitle files are intended primarily for QA, review, and auditing purposes.

If you want to create captions for a video-on-demand (VOD) version of your event, we recommend creating a new project in CaptionHub and generating a fresh transcription and translation using your preferred providers.

This approach typically produces higher-quality captions than reusing the live event output. Speech recognition services generally achieve greater accuracy when processing longer audio files, and CaptionHub's VOD workflow includes additional processing such as scene detection, which enables more natural caption segmentation and timing.

Once generated, captions and translations can be reviewed and refined by linguists using the CaptionHub editor.
