Use Trados Enterprise to translate captions

💡

Requirements: Enterprise subscription, Trados integration

Once you have original language captions for a project, you can translate them into subtitles.

Configuring the Trados connector

Before proceeding, ensure that your Trados connector has been successfully configured. With Trados enabled, you can send and receive translations from the TMS in two ways:

Via Automation

Please see instructions on how to configure your automation template to send translations to Trados here.

Via the Translations tab

Initiate a translation

  • Navigate to the Translations tab
  • Click on the Add button
  • Select Trados as your translation method

Select a project template

  • Choose a project template from the available options
  • These templates correspond to any project templates you have set up in Trados for CaptionHub translations
  • The selected template will filter the available languages for translation based on your Trados settings

Choose target languages

  • Select the languages you wish to translate into
  • Use the "Select All" or "Select None" shortcuts for easier selection

Sending and importing translations

  • Click Add translations to send them to Trados
  • When the translation is completed in Trados, this triggers CaptionHub to show the completed translation
  • You can quickly view any project in Trados by clicking on the 'Open in Trados' button/icon
