Brightcove: import a Brightcove Live project into Timbra
Guide on how to add subtitles to a Brightcove stream
To caption a live stream using Brightcove, select “Live stream from Brightcove” from the New project from… button on your Dashboard, this will show you all current live streams in Brightcove where you can import the relevant stream to create the project inside of Timbra.
To add captions, configure the Brightcove player with the plugin.
Requirements
The following are requirements for live captioning a Brightcove stream:
- A segment size of at least 6 seconds (Brightcove’s default). See Brightcove: Increase the HLS segment size in Brightcove.
- We currently don’t support Brightcove’s content encryption.
- We don’t support Brightcove’s DRM feature.
- Your account can’t be configured with Brightcove’s own automated captions, as this interferes with our functionality.
