Integrate using the Timbra plugin

The Timbra plugin adds captions directly into the player, without the need to modify the HLS stream (but if you can’t add a plugin to the player, use our HLS output).

The plugin can be used if you use a HLS live stream as a source and the HLS media playlist contains a X-PROGRAM-DATE-TIME. For other formats, see the chapter on low latency captions.

We’ll provide you with a Javascript snippet that you’ll place on the page with your video. The plugin will add captions to the player. Using HLS’s built-in buffer, Timbra produces captions in time to achieve fully synchronised captions.
