Applying Automation templates
Automation templates in CaptionHub allow users to automate repetitive tasks, ensuring consistent workflows and faster turnaround times. These templates can be customised to fit specific project requirements, such as captioning settings, language preferences, and subtitle formatting. Where users have an active and enabled OVP connector, automation templates can be configured to streamline the process of ingesting videos from your player into CaptionHub, and benefit from seamless publishing of completed captions back to the video player.
Ways to apply an Automation template:
- Via the UI or API
When creating a new project in CaptionHub, you can select an automation template from the available list. Application of a template ensures that predefined captioning, translation workflows and project preferences are applied automatically and consistently.

API users can trigger automation templates programmatically to streamline bulk processing.
- Via an OVP tag
When you assign the specific tag defined in your automation template to a video in your OVP, CaptionHub detects the tag's presence and automatically applies the corresponding automation template. This triggers the ingestion process, pulling the project into CaptionHub seamlessly.
- Via Your OVP library in CaptionHub
- In CaptionHub, navigate to the Projects page, select New project from and choose your OVP connector.
- From here, you can access your OVP library directly through the CaptionHubβs UI.
- Locate the video you want to pull into CaptionHub.
- In the import settings, select an active automation template from the available list.
- Select Import to CaptionHub to pull the selected video into CaptionHub.
- CaptionHub will automatically initiate the captioning workflow based on the applied template, with the added benefit of being able to automatically publish the finished work back to the OVP.
