Applying Automation templates
Automation templates in CaptionHub allow users to automate repetitive tasks, ensuring consistent workflows and faster turnaround times. These templates can be customised to fit specific project requirements, including captioning settings, language preferences, and subtitle formatting.
Where users have an active and enabled OVP connector, automation templates can also streamline the process of ingesting videos from your player into CaptionHub, while enabling seamless publishing of completed captions back to the video platform.
Ways to apply an Automation template:
- Via the UI or API
When creating a new project in CaptionHub, you can select an automation template from the available list. Applying a template ensures that predefined captioning workflows, translation settings, and project preferences are applied automatically and consistently.

API users can also trigger automation templates programmatically to streamline bulk processing.
To speed up processing, CaptionHub will begin transcribing your video before the video preview has finished encoding.
- Via an OVP tag
When you assign the specific tag defined in your automation template to a video in your OVP, CaptionHub detects the tag and automatically applies the corresponding automation template. This triggers the ingestion process and pulls the project into CaptionHub automatically.
