Configure the in-room display
How to customise the display for venues
The in-room display is a web page designed to be shown on a screen in the venue. From the project interface, you can generate URLs for one or more displays.
Transcript screen
By default, the URL will point to the “transcript screen”, which includes the transcript and an optional QR code.
Customisation options for this screen include:
- Language – Choose the language in which captions are displayed
- Theme – What the screens look like
- Dialogue style – Choose how speaker turns are indicated
- Font size – Adjustable via a size picker
- Font – Choose from available font styles, including custom team fonts
- QR code size – Adjust the size of the QR code, or hide it completely
- QR code helper text – Add optional instructions or information below the code.
A live preview is available in-app, so you can instantly see how your display settings will look.
Holding screen
You can point the URL to a static holding screen displaying the QR code and helper text (same as the transcript screen).
Automatically switch between the transcript and holding
Setting the screen option to Automatic will make the display start at the holding screen and switch over automatically when the first transcript arrives. In most cases, this is the recommended option.
