Transcription

Speechmatics is our default transcription provider, however you have the flexibility to choose another provider from the Default transcription provider dropdown. Our supported transcription engines include: Amazon Transcribe, ElevenLabs ASR, ByteDance ASR (beta), Scriptix (Whisper) and Speechmatics.

Depending on the provider you select, each engine may offer several transcription settings to customise the transcription process according to your preferences. These can be accessed via your Connectors page.

If your team has an AI connector enabled, you may also see Use AI to detect speaker names and Use AI to repair transcription mistakes. The repair option removes full stops in the middle of a sentence, turns a full stop after a question into a question mark, and drops false starts, stutters and fillers. It works for English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.

Translation

Amazon Translate is our default translation provider; however, you can choose another provider from the Default translation provider dropdown. Our supported translation engines include: DeepL, Google Translate, Amazon Translate, Language Weaver and AWS Bedrock. Amazon Translate with Translation Memory, OpenAI Translate and AWS Bedrock are in private beta.

Depending on the provider you select, each engine may offer several translation settings to customise the translation process according to your preferences. These can be accessed via your Connectors page.

Allow automatic splitting of overlong captions

CaptionHub will do some automatic post-editing on the translation in order to make it fit your character limits. It is also possible that we might split one of your longer captions into two if the translation just does not fit into a single caption. To disable this behaviour, a Superuser will need to go to the Default providers tab and remove the check mark from β€œAllow automatic splitting of overlong captions”.

Translation Memory

If Translation Memory is available for your team, tick Reuse this team's approved translations during machine translation (Translation Memory). Machine translation will then reuse your team's approved translations. See Amazon Translate with Translation Memory.

AI

If your team has more than one AI connector enabled, choose which one CaptionHub uses for summaries and checks from the AI provider dropdown.
