Selecting which captions to show

You can mute a stream if you want to temporarily hide the captions that are generated. Note that minutes are still deducted from your account, as long as the stream is running.

In the captions tab, choose “Mute stream”:

Any captions generated after muting the stream will be hidden automatically:

You can use muting to make sure video or music played before an event starts isn’t transcribed and captioned.

You can also use it to hide captions during an event, for example when the a fragment is broadcast in a different source language, or the streamed video already has captions.

Use the show/hide toggle to make muted captions visible again. Note that there’s a very small window (1-5 seconds) between the caption being generated and the caption being displayed on screen. If you make a muted caption visible after it should be shown to the user, it won’t be displayed in the player.
